Centennial struck first in the 15th minute. About 10 minutes later, Alexa Warren corralled a ball off of a Charger defender and sent a 25-yard shot into the upper left corner of the goal.

Both teams battled back and forth from that point on in an intense game. Midway through the second half, the Bulldogs began to wear down the Chargers and got three shots on goal.

In the final 5 minutes, Centennial rallied and earned several corner kicks, forcing Sarah Hohenstein to make several saves. In one instance, many players were scrambling around and falling over the ball right in front of the Bulldogs’ goal. An indirect penalty was called, but the resulting Centennial shot went wide. After a couple more scrambles, time ran out, with the final result a draw.

MSHS Baseball

Mahomet-Seymour and UHIGH traded the lead back-and-forth on Tuesday, but eventually, Mahomet-Seymour prevailed 12-2.

Mahomet-Seymour took the lead for good in the third inning. The game was tied at two with Mahomet-Seymour batting in the bottom of the third when Poland induced Dawson Finchto ground out, but one run scored.

Mahomet-Seymour captured the lead in the first inning. Mahomet-Seymour scored one run when Lukas Graham doubled with two outs in the first inning.

Mahomet-Seymour took the lead for good with two runs in the third inning. In the third Graham doubled off of Poland, driving in one run.

Mahomet-Seymour scored five runs in the sixth inning. The big inning was thanks to a double by Brooks Coetzee III, a single by Nick Herrmann, and a double by Noah Steepleton.

Bradley Hamilton earned the win for Mahomet-Seymour. He tossed five and a third innings, giving up two runs, three hits, and striking out three. Poland took the loss for UHIGH. He pitched three innings, giving up three runs, seven hits, striking out three, and walking one.

Mahomet-Seymour collected 17 hits. Graham, Herrmann, Hamilton, Coetzee III, and Austin Biehl each collected multiple hits for Mahomet-SeymourCoetzee III, Hamilton, Herrmann, and Graham each collected three hits to lead Mahomet-Seymour.
