Fifth-ranked Normal outlasts Mahomet-Seymour

Mahomet-Seymour held its own on Tuesday (Feb. 1) at home against Normal Community’s state-ranked boys’ basketball team.

The Bulldogs dropped a 49-42 decision to the Ironmen, who are 23-1 overall and ranked fifth in Class 4A.

Quenton Rogers led M-S with 15 points, to go with three rebounds and three assists.

Blake Wolters added nine points and Wyatt Bohm registered eight points. Both Wolters and Bohm grabbed three rebounds as did Luke Koller.

Koller led the Bulldogs with four assists.

The Bulldogs led, 13-12, after one quarter, but trailed at halftime, 24-18.

M-S (11-12) has had its Thursday (Feb. 3) home game with Charleston rescheduled for Wednesday (Feb. 9). The next game for the Bulldogs is on Saturday (Feb. 5) at Effingham.
