10 Question Friday: Tasha Schifo

About Tasha
Tasha Schifo is an over thinker. She is currently overthinking how to tell you about herself. She really wants you to know Jesus loves you. She also wants you to know some days she may be a horrible example of Jesus. Try not to hold that against her, because she will overthink that, too.  What you really only wanted to know is that she’s married to her pastor, Jason. She also gave birth to the pastor’s four kids. Though two of them were not pastors kids when they were born. The Schifo Family has lived in Mahomet for 9 1/2 years, since Jason was called to be the senior pastor at Community Evangelical Free Church. Her children are Jakob (age 15), Mollie (age 12), Abigail (age 9), and Samuel (age 7). Tasha can occasionally be seen through the window rolling pie dough and stirring sauces at Lucky Moon Pies & More. You may also spot her running (or catching her breath) through Lake of the Woods.

Do you have any nicknames? How did you get them?
Not really, unless you consider shorter versions of my actual name. Sometimes people call me “Tash” and apologize, but I don’t mind. My family has called me that way for years.

What would you do if you knew you could not fail?
If I would not fail in any way, I’d open a restaurant. Ideally, the menu wouldn’t have prices and people could just pay what they feel the meal is worth or as they’re able.

What advice would you give your 16-year old self?
Get training for what you most enjoy and take all the opportunities you have to travel. I would have told myself to go to culinary school.

Do you have a favorite line from a movie?
Not really. If my favorite quotes come from movies I’ve forgotten which ones they came from!

Would you rather go 30 days without your phone or your entire life
without dessert?
WHAT? 😳 I need my phone to make dessert. There are so many dessert recipes online I want to make. Can I use another device with internet access?

When was the last time you did something for the first time? What did you do?
Today I cooked liver for the first time. 🤢 Thankfully, it wasn’t being cooked for humans.

Would you rather be a fish in a tank or in the open water?
Open water for sure. I’d like to explore the ocean.

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a mom. I really struggled with that, though, because just being a mom isn’t very profitable. 🤣

Where is your favorite place to get takeout in Champaign County?
I really like food and want to try all the places, so I can’t nail it down to one place. BBQ places, in general, seem the most consistent for takeout. It’s not too big a deal if it’s not piping hot and there’s a good variety. We were recently gifted a meal from Project 47 and it was absolutely delicious!

What’s the milestone you’re working towards right now in your personal and professional life?
Personally, I am working towards a better 5K time. I’d also like to run 5 miles without stopping.
Professionally, I’d like to get back into full time work. I miss my pre-kids/marriage job as an account manager.
