Bulldog Tennis tops Lincoln and Charleston

Mahomet-Seymour won all three doubles matches on Tuesday (Oct. 13) to post a 6-3 dual-meet triumph at Lincoln.

Amalie Fried and Emma Clements were victorious at No. 1 doubles, 6-1, 6-2.

Also winning in straight sets was the No. 3 duo of Molly Fried and Jadyn Hannah, 6-4, 6-3.

At No. 2 doubles, Bulldogs Gianna Hill and Sophia Slupski rallied from a one-set deficit to register a 6-7, 6-1,10-7 triumph.

Clements, Hill and Hannah all recorded wins in singles in straight sets.

At No. 2 singles, Clements won 6-2, 6-1. At No. 4, Hill prevailed 6-3, 6-1. At No. 6, Hannah earned a 6-1, 6-3 victory.

Clements has a 6-4 season record. Hill’s record is 5-5.

In doubles, Amalie Fried and Clements are 9-4.

Doubles also made the difference when the Bulldogs edged Charleston in a dual meet, 5-4, on Monday (Oct. 12).

The teams split their six singles matches, but M-S secured wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles to salvage the win.

Amalie Fried and Clements scored an 8-2 win at No.1 doubles.

At No. 3 doubles, Gwen Tee and Averly Sanborn won, 8-5.

The M-S singles winners were Amalie Fried, 8-3, Tee, 8-1 and Clements, 8-2. Fried is tied for the team-lead in singles wins with six.

On Thursday (Oct. 8), St. Thomas More secured a 6-3 win over M-S.

Clements grabbed the lone singles win, 6-2, 5-7, 10-2 at No. 3.

In doubles, Clements teamed up with Amalie Fried for a 6-2, 7-5 win at No. 1.

At No. 3 doubles, Tee and Hannah were victorious, 6-0, 6-1.

M-S (5-6) returns to action on Thursday (Oct. 15) at Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley before entering the Champaign Central Sectional on Friday (Oct. 16).
