M-S Swimming remains unbeaten

The unbeaten (5-0) Mahomet-Seymour girls’ swimming team rolled up 105 points on Saturday to beat both host Charleston (89 points) and St. Thomas More (12 points).

Two Bulldogs were victorious in two individual events. Olivia McMurry triumphed in the 200-yard individual medley (2 minutes, 38.36 seconds) as well as in the 100-yard freestyle (1:03.17).

Eden Oelze prevailed in both the 100-yard butterfly (1:09.15) and the 500-yard freestyle (6:23.95).

Teammate Olivia Ross was the 50-yard freestyle winner (30.64).

M-S also took top honors in both the 200-yard freestyle relay (2:06.71) and the 400-yard freestyle relay (4:23.53).

Miranda Marcelli was the 100-yard backstroke runner-up.

Five Bulldogs captured third place: Ross in the 100-yard breaststroke, Kate Raver in the 200-yard freestyle, Natalie Heaton in the 100-yard backstroke, Bella Davenport in the 500-yard freestyle and Payton Turk in the 50-yard freestyle.

M-S returns to action on Monday, Sept. 23 at Kankakee in a meet that also includes Paxton-Buckley-Loda.
