Mahomet-Seymour dominated a four-team girls’ swimming meet on Tuesday at Lincoln, winning nine of 11 events and sweeping the top three spots in two of the races.

M-S amassed 580 points, more than the total for the other three schools combined. Runner-up Lincoln had 199 points and was followed by Peoria Central (182) and Peoria Manual (131).

Three Bulldogs finished with first-place performances in the maximum number of events in which they could enter (four).

The multiple winners were Miranda Marcelli, Eden Oelze and Olivia McMurry.

Those three – plus Olivia Ross – teamed up for a win in the 200-yard medley relay. Their time was 2 minutes, 15.85 seconds.

The Marcelli/Oelze/McMurry trio also joined forces with Kate Raver to capture top honors in the 400-yard freestyle relay in 4:28.83.

Individually, Marcelli won both the 200 freestyle (2:34.66) and the 100 freestyle (1:08.19), the latter in a race where teammate Raver was the runner-up (1:11.04).

Oelze was triumphant in the 200-yard individual medley (2:40.27) and the 100-yard butterfly (1:08.75).

McMurry led 1-2-3 finishes in both of her individual events.

She was victorious in the 50 freestyle (27.88), finishing in front of Ross (33.56) and Skye Rogers (33.86).

In the 100-yard backstroke, it was McMurry (1:14.72), Natalie Heaton (1:22.66) and Grace Larson (1:51.65).

The other event won by the Bulldogs was the 200-yard freestyle relay. The foursome of Ross, Raver, Skye Rogers and Payton Rogers stopped the clock in 2:15.57.

The 100 freestyle (with Marcelli and Raver) was one of two events where M-S went 1-2.

The other was in the meet-ending 400 freestyle relay.

Claiming the second-place finish was the unit of Bella Davenport, Heaton, Skye Rogers and Larson. Their time was 5:22.52.

Davenport was the top M-S placer in the 500 freestyle, taking third in 8:05.65.

Ross and Anna Lagacy placed second and third, respectively, in the 100-yard breaststroke. Ross’ time was 1:36.05 and Lagacy’s was 1:43.02.

Other top three individual performances for the Bulldogs were Raver in the 200 freestyle (third in 2:41.48) and Larson in the 200 IM (third in 2:58.60).
