To Grandmother’s House We Go
The Museum of the Grand Prairie will host its annual To Grandmother’s House We Go on Dec. 7 from 2 to 5 p.m. Visitors can make, wrap, and take home presents and decorations for their families and friends; including popcorn garland, chromolithograph ornaments, and more! The Champaign-Urbana Theatre Company’s period-authentic carolers performing songs from the nineteenth century!
Make and Take Ornaments at the Mahomet Library
During this free event on Dec. 7, visitors to the Mahomet Public Library can make a variety of ornaments from 9 a.m .to 1:30 p.m.
Santa’s Workshop
Burgwald Eye Center will host Santa’s Workshop on Dec. 6 from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Guests can make reindeer food, play games, have some apple cider and get a Christmas tattoo. They will also hand out treat bags.
Cookie Walk
On Dec. 7th the Mahomet United Methodist Church will display cookies on festive trays which are placed on tables so that people can come select cookies and buy them by the box. The church is looking for people to drop off cookies on Friday for Saturday’s event. Guests can pick up a tray of cookies for a fee.
Craft Bazaar
Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church will host their 16th annual Craft Bazaar on Dec. 7 (2 to 6 p.m.) and Dec. 8 (9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.)
This years’ event will host 20 vendors with a wide-variety of handmade items, including jewelry, soap, candles, scarves and mittens, hand-painted signs, cards and many other items.
The Craft Bazaar will also include a bake sale and raffle. Proceeds will go to the Give Me Five program, which provides nutritious food for Mahomet-Seymour students on the weekend and through the Mahomet Area Youth Club. This event is free and open to the public.
Pie Shop
Pies are back at Busey! Stop by from 5 to 8 p.m. for a treat made by Lucky Moon Pies!
Santa Arrives and Tree Lighting
Santa will arrive on Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. then will light the tree at Sangamon on Main.
Take Pictures with Santa Clause
Head to downtown Mahomet to a picture with the Big Man at Hillary Rae Events on Friday night.
Carriage Rides along Main Street
Merrybeth Farm Carriage Service will provide carriage rides on Main Street on Dec. 6 from 5 to 8:30 p.m. and Dec. 7 from 12 to 3 p.m.
Decorate Cookies
Try out your hand at decorating cookies from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Masonic Lodge.
Sing Along
Bridget Miller, who played Rosie the Grape in Veggie Tales will be at Yellow and Co. during the evening hours of Dec. 6 to sing carols along with guests!
Kid’s Crafts
There are two opportunities for kids to do crafts at Mahomet’s Village Christmas. On Friday night from 5 to 8:30 p.m. they can go to the Community Center and on Saturday Yellow and Co. will have activities!
Buy a Christmas Tree
Sunset Christmas trees will have a selection of freshly cut trees available for purchase near the Mahomet Village Hall.
Mitten and Clothing Drive
Help out those in need this holiday season by bringing gently used or new clothes and mittens to the Cornbelt Fire Department on Dec. 6 from 5 to 8:30 p.m.
Trolley Rides in Mahomet
Get from Point A to B easily on the evening of Dec. 6 with Trolley rides between Sangamon on Main, the American Legion and Busey Bank.
CK Almonds
CK Almonds from Gibson City will sell delicious roasted nuts at the corner of Elm Street.
Breakfast with Santa
Santa is making a list and checking it twice! Make sure your child lets Santa know what is on their list on Dec. 7 from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Mahomet-Seymour High School. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Fresh donuts from Zeke’s Eats will also be available for purchase.

Make and Take Ornaments
Stop by Winderson’s Creations from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to make ornaments with Marsha! A $5 fee is required.
