IDPH brings Champaign County data back to Region 6

The Illinois Department of Public Health began including case counts of Champaign County back into Region 6 statistics again on Oct. 14. The University of Illinois’ saliva testing count will not be included, though.

Standing right under 8-percent positivity in the last few days, then reaching 8.2-percent Wed. without Champaign County’s data, the Region 6 rate fell to 6.6-percent positivity with Champaign’s count Thursday.

On Oct. 15, Champaign-Urbana Public Health announced 65 new cases, bringing Champaign County to 317 active cases, which is 23 more than the previous day. The Vermilion County Health Department reports 40 new COVID-19 cases and 232 active cases.

There are 16 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Mahomet, 3 in Seymour, 9 in St. Joseph, 2 in Ogden and 4 in Homer.
