Evan Herriott and Max Katz were double individual winners on Tuesday as the Mahomet-Seymour boys’ swimming and diving team defeated two opponents at Lincoln.

The Bulldogs (8-5) amassed 141 points to outdistance Lincoln (86) and Jacksonville (71).

Herriott was triumphant in both the 200- and 100-yard freestyle events. Katz took top honors in diving as well as the 100-yard backstroke.

The other individual M-S winner was Caden Raquel in the 200-yard individual medley.

Teammate Zach Orr secured runner-up finishes in both the 200 IM and the 100-yard breaststroke.

Four other Bulldogs placed second in an event: Raquel in the 100-yard butterfly; Mitch McAnally in the 50-yard freestyle, David Andrawes in the 100-yard backstroke and Aaron Smith in the 500-yard freestyle.

McAnally and two other M-S athletes posted third-place finishes. McAnally was third in the 100-yard butterfly. Levi Frost was third in the 100-yard freestyle and Mark Guttierez was third in the 100-yard breaststroke.

Ben Amjad captured fourth in the 500-yard freestyle.

Katz capped his banner day by helping two relay foursomes to victories. Four events is the maximum that an individual can compete in at one meet.

In the 200-yard medley, Katz teamed up with Orr, McAnally and Andrawes for the winning time. He later joined forces with McAnally, Frost and Herriott on the victorious 400-yard freestyle relay entry.

The M-S 200-yard freestyle relay took second and featured Andrawes, Orr, Frost and Herriott.

M-S returns to action on Saturday in the Urbana Invitational.
